Arizona STEM Adventure - Pima Community College

11/2/2016

Comments

On Friday, October 28th 2016, thousands of 4th-8th grade students were treated to 4 dozen or so great exhibitors demonstrated by the likes of Biosphere 2, Honeywell, IBM and the favorite hands down Skips Solar Cooking.

For the "Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics" event Skip Moen and his lovely assistant Loretta had one rule for the  knowledge and cookie hungry students. They had to come up with a solar or solar cooking related question for them to answer before they received their chocolate chipped reward.
Skip and Loretta were aided by Chuck Wacker and Jose Arizpe from the Solar Guild with all of the days activities and the students certainly kept all involved very busy.
Thanks to all the students for such wonderful enthusiasm.

Thanks to Skip and to STEM for putting on such a great event.

Biosphere 2 Solar Array Cleanup - Another Success

10/15/2016

Comments

Hello all,

Fridays Biospere 2 Solar Array vegetation cleanup project was a success. Once again the Goodwill GoodFutures group did a great job of fighting off the dust and heat to remove the shade creating growth around the array.

Thanks again to Jason Flores of Goodwill GoodFutures and John Adams of Biosphere 2 for putting this all together. To the many students and staff that worked through the "October heat" we can not thank you enough.
